What is a Virtual Event?

• A virtual event is any event that brings family and friends together face to face at the same time digitally.
• A virtual event is a gathering of people together where some or all of the attendees are not physically in the same location but are connected in a common environment.
• By hosting an event online, it’s possible for people around the world to attend.
• Virtual events eliminate travel and lodging costs

What platform do you use? How does it work?

• We use Zoom for event planning and facilitation. It’s easy to use, and has the most compatible functionality for our virtual event model. We continue to research and test new platforms as they are rolled out. For now, Zoom is the most stable, user friendly platform and our choice.

• We include easy to follow instructions for how to prepare for an event with all event announcements. You can join an Event on Zoom by clicking on a link on our Event InformationPage or from the browser, from the Zoom desktop and mobile application, from a landline or mobile phone. Before joining a Zoom meeting on a computer or mobile device, you can download Zoom from the Download Center. Otherwise, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom when you click a join link.

• Once you join an event, our team handles everything behind the scenes, so that you can sit back and focus on the service.

Can't I do this zoom event thing myself?

It takes your full focus and attention on the technical and logistical details to plan and facilitate a seamless virtual event. Many of our clients are professional lecturers who use Zoom regularly. Your energy should be focused on participating in the event, and connecting with all other guests to commemorate the life of a loved one rather than carrying the burden of “working” during the event.

What is a Hybrid Event?

• A physical meeting in which an online audience also participates. Essentially, both the physical as well as the online audience come together and participate in the same experience or content at the same time.
• Virtual guests are on a personal device, while the in-person guests are viewing on a large shared screen.
• A hybrid event is one that has a combination of in-person and virtual guests and digital elements.
• Live events require all the attendees to present in a physical location at the time of the event, virtual events are those in which everyone attends online, and hybrid events combine the two, where some people attend in person and others attend online.
• A hybrid event is a blend of a live physical (in-person) event with virtual online components.
